How To Increase Cell Phone Battery Life

Battery life is vital in a mobile phone especially if you’re using it for business purposes. Below are tips and guides to help you increase the life of your cell phone battery.
• Buy a cellular phone with a good battery life. Check the stand-up and maximum call time of your desired mobile phone before buying. Contemplate on the mobile phone features that you need. If you have a business and you need to call people frequently then get a mobile phone with a longer talk time than a cellular unit that has fancy features.
• Prepare your mobile phone battery. Charge your new battery fully so you can optimize its capacity. Read your owner’s manual so you can properly take care of your mobile battery. There are cautions that you need to follow like avoiding leaving your phone in direct sunlight or in any place with hot temperature.
• Turn all unnecessary sounds off. Shut down alerts and keytones because they will drain your battery easily. Minimize the ringing volume of your mobile and don’t use vibration if necessary.
• Reduce the screen brightness of your cell phone. Lessen the brightness to half. Go to your mobile phone’s screen settings and adjust the brightness.
• Turn off your backlight. Most default length on mobile phones is 15 to 30 seconds while backlight settings in some mobile are just 3 to 5 seconds. If you’re not comfortable with a short backlight, then make it longer.
• Turn your Bluetooth off if not needed. Bluetooth is a power hungry application. If you’re not using your Bluetooth headset, turn it off. Turning your Bluetooth off will also save your mobile from virus attacks from other users. This principle also applies if your phone has infrared, and GPS capabilities.
• Close all unneeded applications. These applies to people who are using PDA or smartphones where multiple applications like music, camera phone, and office applications can be simultaneously open. Also, don’t use the flash in your camera phone if not needed.
• Minimize the time you spend in playing mobile games. You can download and upload many games which make mobile gaming interesting. But keep track of your playing time because it will easily drain your mobile battery.
• Don’t connect to the Internet if not needed. If unnecessary, don’t connect to the web through 3G. Besides battery usage, connecting to 3G will cost you money. Don’t use WiFi if not needed. Instead, browse websites and answer e-mails when you get back home.
• Minimize signal searching. Your mobile phone will use lots of power in searching signals. Getting a cellular phone repeater can increase signal to give you convenience anytime you need to make a call.
• Keep your calls short. In Send private messages instead of calling. Avoid chit chats if necessary. Keeping your calls short will also make you a professional in making and receiving calls.
• Don’t discharge your battery fully. Your mobile phone’s battery will experience extra strain if it frequently dies. Charge your cellular phone before the battery drains.

Understand battery failure indicators so you can determine if you need to change your battery. You can identify battery failure if your charging time is shortened and your battery dries off easily.
